  • Identify, build, and manage relationships with data stewards across business domains, ensuring each has clarity on ownership, responsibilities, and governance expectations.
  • Guide stewards through the creation, refinement, and approval of data definitions, KPIs, data quality rules, and domain boundaries.
  • Facilitate cross domain alignment and help resolve definition conflicts, discrepancies, or stewardship gaps.
  • Guide stewards and technical teams through root cause analysis and remediation planning.

Provide Governance Leadership

  • Serve as the expert guiding and overseeing governance work and priorities, shaping workflow and decision pathways.
  • Translate governance frameworks, policies, and standards into actionable guidance for stewards and project teams.
  • Lead data governance onboarding process.

Own Standards & Metadata Quality

  • Oversee updates to the data glossary, metadata fields, naming conventions, and business definitions in governance tools.
  • Review and refine definitions and rules to ensure consistency and alignment with enterprise governance standards.
  • Shape and validate data quality rules, monitoring indicators, and domain specific quality expectations.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the data platform team to maintain accurate catalog entries, lineage views, and metadata documentation based on steward input.
  • Oversee and prioritize incoming governance requests from all business units; ensure items are properly documented, assessed, and routed through the governance process.
  • Provide guidance on practices and stakeholder coordination.

Advance Data Literacy & Clear Communication

  • Prepare clear summaries, recommendations, and communications for technical and business audiences.
  • Support data literacy by helping stewards and stakeholders understand governance processes, standards, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience applying data science techniques to solve business problems.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and stewardship models.
  • Experience managing cross functional discussions related to definitions, standards, ownership, and data quality.
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
  • Proficiency in data wrangling, cleaning, and manipulation tools (e.g., SQL, Python).
  • Bilingual (French-English).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Structured, strategic approach to guiding work, resolving issues, and maintaining consistency.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for using data to drive business results.
  • High attention to detail and a structured, organized approach to managing workflows and decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate governance concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Proven ability to influence, align, and coordinate to build strong relationships across technical and business teams.
