A Strategic Role at the Heart of Logistic

Responsibilities

  • Define specifications and requirements for mandates in collaboration with the necessary stakeholders across the organization;
  • Design data integration flows using available platforms such as Snowflake (SQL, Tasks, Stream, Pipe), AWS (Lambda, Kinesis firehose, S3, etc.) and Azure (Data Factory, Azure SQL DB, etc.), and tools such as DBT;
  • Improve the organization of data to better support all the different loading frequencies;
  • Participate in the development of the data Dev Ops practice, notably with the implementation of automated deployments;
  • Feed the different analytical environments (OPS datamarts, Finance, Sales & Marketing, HR, etc.);
  • Create automated data validation requests;
  • Investigate data quality and ETL issues and work to resolve them;
  • Contribute to the technical documentation of data flows;
  • Establish and maintain data repositories;
  • Always be on the lookout for possible improvements to the platform and methodology;
  • Responsible for the different analytical platform from a security (i.e. accesses) stand point;
  • Build a data governance model for the company, with the help of the Data Architect.
  • Prioritize mandates in collaboration with the stakeholders across the organization to guarantee the fulfillment of the business objectives.
  • Define career path for each member of the data engineering team and support their growth within the organization.
  • Supervise and mentor the data engineering team in the fulfillment of its mission and mandates.
  • Evaluate the performance of the data engineering team while promoting career retention, training and growth.
  • Promote and implement an Agile methodology among the data engineering team.

Qualification:

  • Advanced skills in Snowflake Data Cloud;
  • Advanced skills in SQL language, Window functions and recursive queries
  • Proficiency in Apache Airflow or equivalent
  • Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of DBT (analytics engineering)
  • Knowledge of data modeling (Kimball);
  • Understands the architecture of Power BI services in order to offer relevant solutions (workspace concepts, dashboards versus reports, Apps, etc.);
  • Applicable knowledge of languages like Python/R to present more complete visuals would be an asset;
  • Sufficient knowledge of the Python language to apply it in a data integration context.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a developer on analytic projects;
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (Information Technology, Data Eng., Masters in BI, mathematics, etc.);
  • Strong interest in cloud computing technologies and modern platforms;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Bilingual, French and English;
  • Motivated individual, adaptable to a fast-paced environment;
  • Solution-driven mindset.
