Job Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB:
- Immediate, open position
- $90,000 - $105,000 annual compensation
- Must have Community College technologist or university equivalent
- Provincial Electricians Ticket (309A or 442-A) required
- Rockwell Automation a must and PLC/ computer experience of 5 years required
- Database/ software experience of 2 years required
- Experience with: Visual Basic, SQL, SCADA - RSView32 and FactoryTalk View, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet/IP, Robotics - ABB and Fanuc, Writing and executing SAT and FAT documents
- Familiar with automated systems and process control
- Must possess a high level of effective written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
- Self-motivated with proven ability to get the job done
- Experience preparing schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD
- Familiar with the Ontario Electrical Code and CSA safety standards
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and various shifts
- Must have a high mechanical aptitude and proven ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work extended hours as required to complete assignments
MAIN DUTIES
- PLC/ HMI programming
- Electrical design, including the updating of electrical drawings
- Responsible for database management (New, improvements or changes)
- Responsible for network management and maintenance
- Responsible for maintaining peripheral equipment - scanners, cameras etc.
- Lead and/or support capital projects and other uni-functional and cross functional priorities - Integrate automation with existing and new systems
- Training of the skilled trade group on new equipment and systems implemented
- Completion of all required work orders and associated paperwork
- Work with outside contractors
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and organized
- Perform other duties as assigned
