This Position reports to:
Senior Engineering ManagerAs a Control Engineer, you will serve as a design authority for engineering projects within the Process Industries – Power Conversion and Metals sector. You will contribute to the successful delivery of moderate to large-scale projects by ensuring technical excellence, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with safety, quality, and cybersecurity standards.
The work model for the role is hybrid.
Your Role: Own the Challenge
- Lead the design and engineering of high-power rectifier systems, including schematic development and PLC programming.
- Support sales and tendering teams with technical expertise during the bidding process.
- Ensure all engineering activities follow internal guidelines and processes for successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and commissioning teams to ensure proper assembly, staging, and installation of equipment.
- Participate in shop testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of high-power rectifier designs.
- Provide remote and onsite support to customers for rectifier systems.
- Seek and incorporate customer feedback to improve solutions and service quality.
What it takes to run what runs the world
- 3–7 years of experience in control engineering or a related field, with hands-on exposure to the manufacturing industry.
- Bachelor or Master's in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of power electronics, electrical and control schematics, and PLC programming.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with customers in both remote and onsite settings.
- Member of Order of Engineers of Quebec or in process of enrollment.
- French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
