Job DescriptionAs a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will be part of the Continuous Improvement team, reporting to CI Manager, within the Finance Department. You will play a pivotal role in leading the business transformation mandate of CI, by optimizing multifaceted cross-functional processes, offering recommendations to Finance and other leadership that are instrumental in shaping and advancing the overall business strategy.
Tasks & Responsibilities :
Business Process Optimization
Optimize key financial and business processes by analysing current state, leveraging data-driven insights, and mapping and implementing targeted solutions
Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in finance transformation and apply them to drive continuous process improvement
Design and implement future-state processes that are well-controlled, efficient, resilient, and scalable to support business growth
Develop business cases to support recommendation for process improvement to key leadership
Perform root cause analysis to identify and mitigate risks within the process
Drive the resolution of complex problems through innovative solutions, fostering a culture of problem-solving and adaptability
Design and develop high-quality executive-level presentations and other deliverables such as policies, process documentations etc.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
Build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to gather insights and drive alignment
Collaborate with key leadership to get buy-in on improvement initiatives
Facilitate workshops, process walkthroughs, and brainstorming sessions to co-create solutions
Facilitate regular updates and feedback with Finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and transparency on all CI related initiatives
Develop and deliver targeted communications for diverse audiences
Change Management
Develop and implement a comprehensive change management strategy to support the successful adoption of new processes and systems across the finance organization
Ensure people readiness for change through training, communication, and support initiatives
Monitor post-go-live success & sustainability, adjusting as needed to ensure long-term impact
Project Support
Support CI Manager and Director in all phases of a project life cycle including as-is analysis, design of target state, fit-gap analysis, configuration, testing, end-user training, deployment, post go-live support and maintenance, documentation, etc.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and impact of improvement initiatives
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s in Business or Finance is an asset)
Minimum 7 years of experience
3+ years of experience in finance or business transformation and process improvement. (Consulting experience is an asset)
Strong knowledge of accounting and finance operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger processes
Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
Experience in preparing executive-ready deliverables in/for large organizations
Skillset
Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Proficient in process mapping and diagnostic
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
Bilingualism (French & English) is an asset
