We’re looking for a Content Designer II to join our Content Design team. As a Content Designer II at Lightspeed, you’ll work across departments with Product Designers, Product Managers, and other Content Designers to improve our documentation and enhance the overall product experience for our users. As an individual contributor on a small team, you should ideally have a background in content management systems (knowledge base) and UX copy creation working in a product environment. With a focus on eCommerce/B2B, you should be familiar with products and features related to wholesaling platforms, retail, POS systems, online payments and order management.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a company who is the leader in its market and continues to invest in expanding its advantage. In addition, you'll work in an exciting, fast-paced environment with experienced industry leaders.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work directly with Designers and Product Managers to create clear and consistent product content for new and existing features in our platform.
  • Develop, edit and review strategic content for our customer Knowledge Base that includes, help articles, FAQs, release notes and reference materials.
  • Develop new and align with current Go-To-Market strategies and processes for monthly-cadence release documentation and features.
  • Create in-product workflows that will assist in onboarding and feature adoption.
  • Conduct content audits to identify gaps in existing Knowledge Base content and product copy.
  • Work in an Agile environment in sprints across multiple teams.
  • Identify user needs using data and feedback across multiple teams/stakeholders (Customer Success, Support, Retail) and prioritize content as necessary.
  • Standardize terminology across content types (in-app, help articles, marketing materials).
  • Work hands-on with features to test functionality, provide usability feedback, and improve the user experience.
  • Partner with Design, Engineering, and Product Management to become familiar with new features and how they enhance our customer’s experience.

What you need to bring:

  • 3+ years experience in Content Design.
  • ECommerce and/or B2B SaaS platform experience.
  • Degree/Qualifications in English, Design, Technical Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience designing and delivering customer-facing UX content.
  • Experience of creating and maintaining editorial standards in a style guide.
  • Experience using Content Management Systems (CMS) to write, format, manage, and publish high-quality content. (E.g. Zendesk, Confluence, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and open-minded attitude to resolving problems and delivering results.
  • The ability to wear multiple hats, organize work, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate experience balancing multiple priorities at the same time.
  • Collaborative mindset, working with others across the company and within the Content Design team.
  • Experience delivering at pace using Agile methodologies.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation focused on adding value and thinking creatively.
  • Spot warning signs of things going wrong and provide a decisive response.
  • Identify the main issues in complex problems.
  • Make effective decisions by pragmatically weighing the complexities involved against the need to act.
  • Have clear operational awareness and be able to balance the need for new features with the need to maintain and support the existing systems.
  • Maintain exemplary performance in difficult and challenging circumstances, encouraging others to do the same.

What's in it for you:

  • Join a fast-paced, high-growth company.
  • Surround yourself with strong talent and enjoy continuous professional growth.
  • Develop in a modern and proven technology stack.
  • Great benefits and perks, including equity and flexible/hybrid remote work options, in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Development of very high traffic products, used at the global scale.
  • Opportunities to learn and expand your skill set
  • Become a valued part of the diverse and inclusive Lightspeed family.

… and enjoy a range of benefits that’ll keep you happy, healthy and (not) hungry:

  • Lightspeed equity scheme (we are all owners)
  • Flexible paid time off policy
  • Health Insurance
  • Health and wellness benefit of $500 per year
  • Paid leave and assistance for new parents
  • Mental health online platform and counselling & coaching services
