ERM is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented part -time Consultant, Desktop Publisher to join our global environmental consultancy. This role involves supporting our Partners and Project Managers by producing high-quality client deliverables and proposals

As a Consultant, Desktop Publisher - Casual, you will be a member of our Canadian professional Publishing team, working with experienced technical editors, desktop publishers, and graphic artists to support ERM’s extensive team of global environmental and social scientists. This is an opportunity to create reports for environmental assessments and permitting applications for large-scale capital projects.
Your responsibilities:
- Deliver document formatting services using MS Office and Adobe Creative Cloud to enable ERM to present complex and lengthy technical materials to clients in appropriate formats that exceed their expectations.
- Scope project work from a publishing request and communicate any timeline issues with the author and project team, requesting assistance if necessary.
- Collaborate with internal clients on layout, structure, readability, branding, and recommend a course of action that combines best practices with company objectives.
- Integrate graphic elements to produce uniform, high-quality layouts aligned with corporate brand standards and templates.
- Interact with other functional groups (e.g., GIS specialists, statistical analysis experts, etc.) to provide appropriate service levels, make technical edits, and address concerns related to project reporting deliverables, within the scope of ERM’s desktop publishing guidelines.
- Actively listen and confidently communicate verbally and in writing with various audiences, responding quickly and effectively to questions.
- Support multiple proposals, reports, memos, and other tasks simultaneously, taking on high volume level of work within tight timeframes, while effectively prioritizing tasks with team to ensure all delivery dates are met as required by internal customers.
- Follow document and version control requirements and adhere to file and folder management procedures.
Who you are:
- 2+ years of experience in the application of essential desktop publishing skills in a relevant work environment.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Intermediate (or higher) proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Adobe Creative Cloud proficiency (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional customer-service approach and organizational, analytical, and project/time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal direction in a fast-paced, deadline-driven business environment.
- Consistently exhibit a high degree of accuracy and an eye for detail when performing tasks.
- Strong initiative along with the ability to work collaboratively, supporting team members with work commitments.
- Patient, creative, dependable, with a positive attitude and a desire for continuous learning.
- Flexibility to work overtime and outside normal office hours on occasion, when required for project delivery.
For the Consultant, Desktop Publisher - Casual (Mid - Level) position, we anticipate the hourly base pay of $33.58 – $36.77 (CAD). An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).
