The Conference on Industry and Resources: Queen’s University Engineering (CIRQUE) is a premier engineering conference hosted by Queen's University Engineering, celebrating its 44th anniversary. The conference's primary objective is to showcase the versatility of an engineering degree and the broad range of job opportunities available to engineering students across various industries. The conference also aims to connect students with leading industry professionals, engineering alumni, and top employers who share insights and experiences on career paths and how to succeed after graduation. Furthermore, CIRQUE aims to expose students to non-traditional engineering post-graduate roles, allowing delegates to broaden their view of their postgraduate opportunities. 

Coordinator Role Descriptions

The conference is seeking organized, motivated, and hard-working team players to join the executive team and create an engaging and professional conference experience. The executive team will be encouraged to take initiative and problem solve, with the ultimate goal of growing the conference. The conference encourages individuals with diverse backgrounds, expertise, and experiences to apply.
1. Coordinator of Relationships

The Relationships Coordinator is an essential part of the CIRQUE Executive Team, responsible for overseeing the Sponsorship and Speaker portfolios. This position holds significant importance, and candidates must possess exceptional organizational and communication skills.

The Relationships Coordinator is tasked with reaching out to companies and professional organizations, preparing grant and bursary applications, and recruiting a diverse group of speakers for the conference. The ideal candidate must be a passionate leader capable of managing a team and presenting the conference's value proposition to potential sponsors and speakers.

2. Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator plays a crucial role in the CIRQUE Executive Team, responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing strategies to attract delegates. 
The Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Marketing to help develop digital and print marketing materials, including graphics and visuals, that are engaging and informative. They will continuously evaluate and refine marketing strategies to ensure their success in gaining attendance for our events and conference. Overall, the Marketing Coordinator's goal is to increase CIRQUE's visibility and ensure that the conference attracts a wide range of delegates.

3. Logistics Coordinator

The Logistics Coordinator plays a vital role in the success of CIRQUE, working closely with the Director of Logistics to ensure that all conference details are finalized. The primary responsibility of this position is to book the conference venue and maintain regular communication with venue representatives to ensure that all aspects of the conference can run smoothly. 

As the Logistics Coordinator, you will assist in planning events and managing conference logistics. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating the final schedule of the conference and planning meals for the weekend, ensuring that all attendees have a positive experience. The ideal candidate for this position should possess excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills. They should be able to work well under pressure and be adaptable to changes in the conference schedule. 

4. IT Coordinator

The IT Coordinator is essential to CIRQUE, primarily focused on website development and online ticket sales. They will work closely alongside the Director of Marketing to work on the overall CIRQUE "theme" and the Director of Finance to ensure that financial transactions are appropriately tracked and secured. 

The ideal candidate for this position will be detail-oriented and possess excellent collaborative skills. Having website-building skills is a strong asset.
