Radio-Canada’s Community Experiences and Partnerships team for the Quebec regions is looking for an energetic Communications Officer.


Your Role


Reporting to the Manager, Community Experiences, you will be responsible for developing, co-ordinating and executing brand activations and events. Your goal is to elevate the Radio-Canada brand, maximize its reach and strengthen its community presence while deepening the connection between Canadians and their public broadcaster.


Please note that this a 7-month, full-time assignment. The position can be based in either Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, Saguenay, or Quebec City.


Key Tasks:

  • Develop, plan and deliver original brand activations and experiential events.
  • Help negotiate, draft, monitor and implement partnership agreements.
  • Implement and co-ordinate internal/external communications strategies to ensure maximum visibility for all initiatives.
  • Draft clear strategic marketing briefs for stakeholders and work collaboratively with various communications teams (integrated strategy, creative studio, etc.).
  • Assist in designing brand activations aligned with marketing goals as well as developing and rolling out both small-scale initiatives and major events.
  • Help plan event calendars and production schedules, co-ordinate all steps involved, scout locations and manage budgets.
  • Oversee contests tied to partnerships, including drafting web and social copy, writing contest rules, obtaining legal approvals, sourcing and negotiating prizes, managing promotional visibility, and following up with winners and suppliers.
  • Assist the media relations team in drafting and distributing news releases.
  • Work with programming and technical teams to plan and execute remote broadcasts linked to community activities and partnerships.
  • Co-ordinate brand ambassadors during partnership and community experience activities, providing them training, guidance and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate on performance evaluations for implemented activities and campaigns, conduct post-mortems and optimize results.
  • Manage and respond to inquiries sent to the partnerships email account.
  • Support event and cultural engagement operations as needed.

This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.


What You Bring:


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, advertising, marketing or a related field.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada, its mandate and its programming.
  • Demonstrated negotiation, planning and organizational skills.
  • A genuine passion for event management, with the flexibility to adapt to the unique schedule and demands of event work.
  • Leadership, self-direction, sound judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • High level of creativity in designing promotional events and brand activations.
  • Creative, solutions-oriented team player with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Google Sheets, Google Calendar, Jira, Canva) and any other relevant software.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Good knowledge of the Quebec cultural sector.
  • Experience with and strong grasp of marketing principles and brand-building strategies.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours or extended shifts as required by the event schedule.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
