As a Commissions Manager at 1Password, you will be responsible for helping to build out and administer our Sales Compensation plan. You will be utilizing your analytical skills and business acumen in the timely and accurate calculation of sales commissions for the sales team and be a key contributor in our Finance department. You will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact as you join a growing team and work closely with cross-functional departments.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada.
What we're looking for:
- 6+ years experience managing the commissions process at a tech company.
- Experience with reporting, analytics, and calculation of sales incentive/commission payments.
- Expertise using Excel to analyze large data sets (i.e. basic formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with other BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.
- Experience using CaptivateIQ, Looker and Salesforce an asset.
- Knowledge of US GAAP not required but preferred.
- Previous experience supporting or strong knowledge of sales function in a SaaS company.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure the accuracy of data management.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively across the organization with key stakeholders at various levels.
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
- Ability to adapt and adjust to a high volume of changes.
What you can expect:
- Manage the annual compensation setting process, resetting quotas, plans, and modify the plan and configure systems as needed.
- Distribute and maintain commission plans database in CaptivateIQ.
- Partner with other functions such as Rev Ops and HR Ops to establish best practices, and improve processes to increase efficiency and accuracy of the sales commissions process.
- Research compensation issues, disputes and provide analysis to facilitate resolution.
- Manage the end-to-end compensation process including commissions calculation, payment, reporting, inquiries, communications, auditing compensation payments and submitting payout details to payroll.
- Provide support for all end-user technical or commission inquiries.
- Produce well-structured documentation that supports audit & SOX processes.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual commissions file, while ensuring accuracy of payments based on sales commission plans.
- Prepare monthly accounting journal entries as part of the month-end close accounting schedule and assist in audit requirements on a quarterly basis.
- Consistently review the commission process, while making applicable improvement recommendations to direct manager.
- Maintain data integrity in CaptivateIQ, incentive compensation management software.
Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $102,000 CAD and $138,000CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
