The Claims Technical Specialist is responsible for delivering Northbridge's industry leading claims service. The successful candidate is responsible for providing efficient and prompt investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of complex property claims in accordance with established best practices. The Technical Specialist is expected to support their teams through their expertise as a coach and mentor.

If you are great at:

  • Strong understanding of the Claims Handling process 

  • Thoroughly investigating & evaluating complex Claims

  • Managing stressful calls and clearly deliver decisions

  • Providing training to new hires through job shadowing sessions 

  • Supporting and mentoring other adjusters on the team 

  • Effectively managing a busy day to day schedule 

  • Providing a great Customer experience 

And you have:

  • Post-Secondary Education in an Insurance focused program or related program

  • Working towards the CIP designation an asset

  • Minimum 7 years of Property Claims adjusting experience.

  • General working knowledge of claims settlement, policy wordings, insurance contracts, fraud investigations, serious losses, and coverage questions.

  • Ability to work within and adapt to PC oriented environments, including familiarity with e-mail and Internet skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with applying applicable case law/arbitration decisions and provincial legislation.

  • Experience in establishing and monitoring litigation disposition plans.

  • Strong technical skills with MS Office Suite
