The position is open for the North Shore region. Possible locations include Laval or the east end of Montreal, and the final location will be determined based on the selected candidate.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Client Partner, BDC Advisory Services, conducts business development activities, discusses client issues, assesses needs and proposes consulting solutions to improve or ensure the competitiveness of Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The successful candidate works closely with the execution teams of each centre of expertise as well as with Financing to ensure the proper execution of consulting projects, customer satisfaction and the achievement of sales objectives.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Play a key role within BDC Advisory Services and conduct business development activities to maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to achieve sales objectives.

  • Through strategic questions, discussions and diagnostic tools, assess and prioritize clients' business requirements to increase their competitiveness. Recommend appropriate consulting solutions and facilitate the assignment of projects to the appropriate teams based on client needs.

  • Adopt a value-added sales approach by conducting research and compiling strategic information on customers, their business lines, economic and market trends.

  • Ensure that service offerings are well-designed and clearly defined, and that the stated scope of work and deliverables reflect priorities. Act as a resource for BDC Advisory Services and manage the client experience. Work closely with the execution teams of each centre of expertise and with Financing to respond to client requests and address issues.

  • Follow up on project deliverables based on service offerings to ensure client satisfaction. In collaboration with the execution team, evaluate the project and measure results once the project is completed.

  • Stay abreast of the evolving needs and issues of businesses in the region.

  • Leverage business assets and cross-functional capabilities to create maximum value for clients and create new opportunities for BDC.

  • Stay up to date on BDC Advisory Services' offerings and solutions, as well as BDC's technology environment, tools, policies and procedures.

  • Participate in the preparation and execution of the region's business development plan.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce, business administration or a related discipline. MBA is an asset.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in business development and client program portfolio management with an established consulting firm, or experience in business development, sales, or management within a company.

  • Proven ability to achieve goals

  • Business acumen

  • Strategic vision and high emotional intelligence

  • Strong customer relationship management skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Strong team spirit and entrepreneurial mindset

  • Ability to adapt quickly in an ever-changing environment

  • Strong ability to build and maintain productive relationships, and to collaborate with internal colleagues and client groups at all levels

  • Results-oriented, rigorous and self-motivated

  • Innovative thinking and creative problem-solving skills

  • Experience in the consulting services sector or with SMEs is an asset

  • Experience across multiple industries is an asset

  • Good communication skills in both official languages (French and English), both oral and written, are required.
