This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. This Position reports to:
Local Division ManagerThis role is an integral part of both the global Robotics Division as well as a key contributor of the overall country business success. The successful candidate will drive profitable growth initiatives across multiple market segments facing business lines while fostering a customer focus, continuous quality improvement culture within the region and contribute to the region’s success.
The successful candidate will lead the Robotics Canada, including the management of all the Robotics business line P&L, and the commercial, operational, and execution teams. This position will also lead the Sales/commercial team directly and hold responsibility for Account Planning and customer engagement, preparing and ensuring order plans are set and sales targets achieved. This position is responsible for delivering the business line’s annual performance plan with successful operational oversight and P&L financial performance with aligned strategic execution.
Position Responsibilities
- Ensures the development of performance targets in line with global and regional targets and proactive approach to the market.
- Directly lead the Sales and commercial operations in the Country
- Build and enhance long-lasting relationships with existing and new customers in the region.
- Ensure, with the support of HR, that the business line teams are sustainably assessed, staffed, trained and developed in line with regional and business needs.
- Evaluates market opportunities and decides appropriate activities in the business line with region and global strategy.
- Develops and implements the business line strategy and ensures proper business line alignment with the global strategy.
- Participate in forum with other senior business area representatives and global teams on a variety of topics including environment, health, and safety initiatives, workplace practices, quality and other related license to operate issues.
Your background
- At least bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or equivalent.
- 15 years of experience in technical or process leadership role.
- Minimum 8 years managing full cycle business in the automation industry.
- Minimum 8 years of experience managing in a matrix environment, including global organizations.
- Prior Background leading Automation teams in Industrial companies
- Commercial leadership and keen customer mindset
- Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel, including globally as needed.
- Strong awareness of Health, Safety and Security rules: HSE is everyone's business.
