Serverfarm development team leads all engineering and construction initiatives related to the deployment of critical capacity across the globe. The procurement team is responsible for the sourcing and contracting to support the overall corporation including Capital Equipment, Construction, Design Services, Engineering and Indirect to support new and installed Data Center capacity. We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to support the procurement of Equipment for our Data Center Construction projects. In this role, you will oversee purchase orders, tracking of equipment deliveries and communicating delivery schedules with General Contractors.
Key Accountabilities
- **This role must reside in Central Time Zone**
- Ownership of open purchase order delivery tracking for Data Center construction and fit out projects.
- Interface with Suppliers to provide required delivery dates and obtain committed delivery dates based on schedule.
- Manage supplier documentation reviews (Shop Drawings, Submittals and Specification responses) with general Contractor and Design Engineers.
- Interface with the Sourcing Managers, VP Procurement, Development team, General Contractors and Design Engineers to provide weekly updates to delivery schedules and documentation submissions.
- Track PO Ontime Delivery by project and supplier.
- Track late deliveries and provide documentation on commit vs delivery to Sourcing Managers, VP Procurement and Development team.
- Track deficiencies in deliveries and coordinate with suppliers for missing items and provide delivery schedules.
- First point of escalation with Suppliers for delivery escalations.
- Escalate unresolved delivery issues to Sourcing Manger and VP of Procurement.
- Coordinate onsite delivery scheduling with General Contractors
- Engage and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Issue Purchase Orders as required.
- Onboard new suppliers as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Construction Management or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience.
- Understanding of Data Center Equipment (Switchgear, Transformers, UPS, PDU, STS, Chillers, Fanwall and CRAH) preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Must have effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and Suppliers
- Ability to learn ERP systems (NetSuite).
- Advanced Microsoft Office Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
