Job DescriptionRole: Business Intelligence Product Support and Administration
Location: Montreal, Canada
Duration: 6+ Months

We are looking for a motivated person who is capable of supporting and administering Business Intelligence products in a world class enterprise. We are expanding our Enterprise Data Engineering team. The team is fast paced, dynamic, and results oriented. We handle all engineering activities across the company for Business Intelligence products such as Informatica, Cognos, Business Objects, Tableau, QlikView, Qlik Sense and Cisco Information Server. We integrate and run these products for scale, throughput and availability appropriate to a large multi-national financial services firm with multiple datacenters across the world. We also work closely with a development team that develops custom tooling to scale out our solutions across the enterprise. The team is located in New York, Montreal, India and Shanghai.
The ideal candidate will have a very strong technical foundation as well as good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.The core responsibilities of this role include: - Integrate/roll-out/administer/sustain/upgrade our installations of (1) Qlik Sense and QlikView on Windows as well as (2) Cisco Information Server on Linux. - Ensure products are configured properly to meet the necessary security, supportability, and performance requirements.- Investigate & troubleshoot root causes for issues that occur both with the product and in the data center infrastructure.- Escalate tickets to the vendor as necessary.- Participate in support rotation and occasional weekend work- Create, review, maintain and update documentation.- Work with our users to understand their needs and define how our products and infrastructure will meet those needs. - Disseminate knowledge among colleagues.- Participate in design and implementation activities with members of the team.- Implement proof-of-concept prototypes.- Active participation with team and must provide constructive feedback to colleagues when necessary.
Skills Required - 3+ years of experience in a technical support environment- Experience in supporting and administration of middleware software systems in an enterprise setting. - In depth knowledge of the following technologies: Windows OS / IIS, Linux OS, networks, storage (SAN/NAS) and web technologies (HTTP, SOAP, REST).- Scripting experience in one or more of the following: Linux shell scripting, PERL, Python, or Power shell.- Good SQL skills. - Ability to write technical and operational documentation (system design and engineering documents, operational run-books).- Strong communication skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Skills Desired:- QlikView and Qlik Sense dashboard development skills.- Installation and packaging of applications.- Experienced with Java-based middleware applications
