Today, we enable workflows across admissions, reimbursement, and billing at 2,500+ post-acute facilities and agencies.

Since we raised our $30M Series A last Fall, we have scaled our team to ~75 people across Toronto and New York City, bringing world-class talent together to transform healthcare. If you like building, learning, and want to make a real impact, come join us!

About the Role
We're looking for a Business Development Representative Intern to join our Sales team and help build the top of funnel for one of exacare ai's fastest-growing customer segments. You'll work closely with our BDR team, Account Executives, Revenue Operations, and Marketing to research prospective customers, develop outbound campaigns, and help turn the right conversations into real opportunities.

This role is a great fit for someone who wants hands-on experience in B2B sales at a fast-moving healthcare startup, is energized by speaking with new people, and wants to learn how a high-performing outbound engine is built from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

  • Support outbound prospecting across email, LinkedIn, phone, and other channels to help create meetings and pipeline for the Sales team
  • Research target accounts, operators, and decision-makers across skilled nursing, home health, and hospice to identify high-potential opportunities
  • Help build and test outbound messaging, multi-touch sequences, and account plans alongside BDRs and Account Executives
  • Assist with keeping prospect and account data accurate and organized in our CRM and sales tools
  • Track outbound activity and campaign performance, helping the team understand which messages, channels, and tactics are working
  • Partner with Revenue Operations and Marketing to support prospect lists, account research, campaign follow-up, and lead handoffs
  • Support the Sales team at industry events and help turn conversations into follow-up opportunities
  • Take on independent projects as you ramp up

What You’ll Bring

  • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Stellar track record as a top performer in academic and previous experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence starting conversations and asking thoughtful questions
  • Curiosity about sales, business development, B2B software, or health tech; prior experience is a bonus, not a requirement
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action; you'd rather try something and iterate than wait for the perfect brief
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Resilience and coachability; you are open to feedback and motivated to keep improving
  • Genuine interest in healthcare, startups, or building things from scratch

Benefits + Perks

  • Competitive salary, with the potential to build toward a full-time opportunity at exacare ai
  • Hands-on mentorship and the opportunity to work closely with experienced leaders across the business
  • Meaningful ownership from day one on projects that directly support our growth
  • Hybrid work from our Toronto office at King & Spadina
  • A high-achieving, collaborative team including ex-FAANG engineers and alumni of Bain, BCG, Goldman Sachs, and more
  • Great startup culture, including team events and company off-sites

An insight into our Core Values

Only the Best Belong Here

We are unapologetic about talent. This should be the best team you have ever been on. Protecting that standard is how we honor each other’s time, ambition, and craft.

We work even harder to keep our partners than we did to earn them initially

The work does not stop when a customer first onboards to our platform. It deepens over time. We partner with operators, listening and learning about real problems, and translate that into solutions that help them succeed in practice. We earn trust through consistent delivery.

We keep the patient downstream of every decision

At the end of the day, this is about the patient. We get there by deeply respecting and reflecting on our purpose: to develop software that aids teams in delivering better care.

Raise the Bar on Ownership

We grow because people here go beyond the minimum. We invest extra effort, care, and ownership into what we build.

The World is Moving Fast. We move Faster.

This is a race. We work hard, we move early, and we stay ahead of problems and competitors. If we slow down, someone else will pass us.

Radical Candor, Zero Politics.

We say what’s true, early, and we keep communication direct and clean so the team can move.

Bring Good Vibes and Win Together

We win as a team. We bring energy, support each other, and make the workplace somewhere people are excited to show up to.

If this sounds like you, we'd love to have a chat!
