Team Overview

The Business Development Executive, Breach and Cyber Risk is responsible for the development of new preferred vendor relationships with strategic law firms, incident response firms and panelist relationships with cyber insurers. Additionally, the BDE will have a key focus on managing existing strategic relationships with incident response partners and existing TU customers for support of TU’s incident response solutions. This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities


  • Responsible for developing and managing new strategic relationships with incident response partners and existing TU customers for support of TU solutions to drive incremental revenue.
  • Focus on the development new preferred vendor relationships with strategic law firms and panelist relationships with cyber insurers. 
  • Proactively research and remain astute of industry changes; drive education and consultation of the customer and other members of sales staff.
  • Assess competitive landscape from a solution and financial perspective to assist with the continual assessment of TU’s product suite and offering. Identify opportunities for product development and creatively build on data to drive product or service enhancements.
  • Lead and coordinate resources for client-facing business reviews.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Executives, Market Planners and Product Consultants to drive adoption of new product opportunities to help solve Customer challenges.
  • Facilitate potential RFP’s and/or contract renewals as required.
  • Work with the Client Success Management Team to ensure successful implementation of solutions and projects, and ROI achieved as expected by the Customer.
  • Maintenance of sales and operations assets to assist with client engagements.
  • Lead on issue resolution including providing documentation of issues and root causes for future issue avoidance.
  • Coordinates the sales process by securing internal resources, scheduling team conference calls, delegating assignments, coordinating responses and ensure customer’s expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Build and leverage relationships with other corporate departments, including accounting, operations and other sales groups to meet the needs of the customer.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5 years of incident response experience with an established industry network. 
  • 4 years of business development and relationship management experience or 5 years of experience in related industries and/or functional areas.
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in new business development and relationship management; subject matter expert of incident response strategies and solution applications; experience with strategic account planning and development.
  • In-depth experience in coordinating reactive response strategies with incident response partners (breach coaches, cyber insurers, PR firms, etc.).
  • Understanding of regulatory/legislative environment to support incident response strategies.
  • A high performer with an engaging, adaptable and goal-oriented personality.
  • Ability to effectively support and execute a GTM strategy to gain market share and increase market penetration.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to connect and engage with customers with a high degree of comfort & confidence.
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle concurrent projects.

The expected pay range for this position is $89,000 - $123,000 annually. The pay information provided for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of expected compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of many factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the 
position and market considerations. In addition, variable compensation is based on applicable
company guidance and plan documents as well as performance.
