Job Description

Business Developer position 

The Business Developer role at SmartPixel 

At SmartPixel, we would be nothing without our successful Sales team. We are seeking a qualified Business Developer to help us sell turnkey interactive solutions, including software applications and hardware audiovisual equipment that our customers have grown to rely on. 

The ideal Business Developer will be a driver, energetic, creative, social, technical and open minded professional, as well as having a strong understanding of our sales process, excelling at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. 

The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong negotiating skills, possess technical knowledge in turnkey interactive solutions and the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. Often tasked with cold calling, sourcing leads, giving presentations, attending networking events, and attending trade shows, it is essential that our Account Representative be personable and professional. 

Note that the candidate must be located in Quebec and must be able to come to the Montreal office on a regular basis. 

The position will require the capacity of traveling locally and internationally to attend meetings, trade shows and various types of events. 

The Business Developer's responsibilities 

  • Identify appropriate prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage the sales cycle to close new business ; 
  • Maintain working relationships with existing clients to ensure exceptional service and identification of potential new sales opportunities ; 
  • Prepare professional, complete, and concise strategies, presentations and proposals, and other documentation as required for executive-level presentations 
  • Achieve sales goals by assessing current client needs and following a defined selling process with potential buyers 
  • Coordinate with other sales reps to ensure company quotas and standards are being met, performing market research and regular competitor monitoring; 
  • Able to understand a client’s technical needs - software and hardware related - and to prepare Scopes of Work by uncovering client needs and offering creative solutions ; 
  • Possess in-depth product knowledge and be able to conduct demos remotely and in person ; 
  • Team-up with other Business Developer on specific opportunities ; 
  • Provide weekly updates on sales forecasts ; 
  • Follow Company processes to scope (via Confluence), pitch (producing sales decks and verbal pitches), confirm (signing scopes and generic legal Service Agreements), and hand off sales to Production ; 
  • Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships to ensure overall success of your projects; 
  •  Create sales documentation, including presentations and service contracts; 
  • Record explanatory videos using provided equipment to visually demonstrate SmartPixel applications and customer expectations; 
  • Document project requirement for analysis; 
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Production, Finance, and IT to ensure knowledge transfer and exceptional customer service; 
  • Help the accounting department collect outstanding client payments; 
  • Train clients on how to use delivered software; 
  • Assist the Sales Director with the management of projects; 
  • Contribute to internal and external process improvements to enhance customer service and increase future recurring revenues 
  • Any other responsibilities that goes along with the role of Business Developer 

 

 

Qualifications

The ideal Business developer will have the following hard skills 

  • 5-9 years in sales within a software-solution or real estate setting ; 
  • Experience in marketing is a strong asset 
  • Knowledge and passion for multimedia and audiovisual experiences ; 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills ; 
  • Knowledge of the real estate market ; 
  • Proven success rate at levels above quotas ; 
  • Very fluent in English (international clients) 
  • Interest for people management 
  • Bachelor’s degree Marketing or equivalent ; 
  • Proficiency with sales management software and CRM 
  • Experience with 3D Art is an asset ; 
  • Artistic sense and creativity are assets ; 
  • Owns/have access to a vehicle to meet clients.
