The Capital Markets Solutions division, operating within the Corporate sector, is seeking a Business Analyst to contribute to projects within the Capital Markets sector. The incumbent will analyze internal client needs to structure and build business and technology solutions. They will contribute to developing the foundations of solutions aimed at the Fixed Income desk and its securities financing activities (bonds or equities). As part of these projects, they will collaborate with and support the project sponsor, project manager, architects, product owner, business analysts, functional analysts, and IT developers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze client business needs and processes, ensuring project work aligns with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand their requirements regarding securities and equity financing, collateral management, and position management.
  • Draft and present business deliverables clearly and concisely to stakeholders (Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Finance, Legal, Compliance, etc.). Deliverables include: target operating model, business requirements and use cases, operational procedures, identification of impacted processes, implementation strategy, and traceability matrix.
  • Document the lifecycle of securities and equity financing activities (e.g., bond/securities lending/borrowing, global repo market, collateral management).
  • Ensure alignment and integration with the IT ecosystem and architecture.
  • Develop validation strategies and maintain unit tests.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to enhancing solutions and the ecosystem.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize work methods and processes, and document these improvements.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Business analysis certifications and training.
  • Proficiency in the business analyst role and its deliverables (distinct from functional analyst or application advisor roles).
  • 5 years of prior business analysis experience delivering business solutions in the capital markets sector, specifically regarding inventory financing and fixed income.
  • Experience with end-to-end business solution management, including trading platforms, position and inventory management, valuation, settlement, accounting, and risk. - Strong understanding of and good relationships with IT and the Agile team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Mastery of the business analyst role and its deliverables, distinct from functional analysis and application consulting
  • Knowledge of the securities financing lifecycle: Securities Lending and Borrowing, Global Repo Market, collateral management, and position management
  • Experience with end-to-end solutions: trading platforms, inventory management, valuation, settlement, accounting, and risk
  • Ability to lead meetings with executive stakeholders and steer discussions toward decision-making
  • University degree; business analysis certification considered an asset
  • Must work from Canada

  • Generalist banking business analyst with no capital markets project experience.
  • Profile from retail banking, credit, payments, or insurance sectors.
  • Business analyst whose capital markets experience is limited to equities or derivatives, without fixed income or inventory financing.
  • Product Owner or proxy BA whose deliverables are limited to the backlog and user stories, without a target operating model or traceability matrix.
  • Candidate working from outside Canada.
