Reporting to the Director, Business Solution, we are currently looking for a Business Analyst, IT to support the intake and analysis of requests for new IT solutions, contribute to the governance and inventory of enterprise applications, and assist with the oversight of key IT contracts. This role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT, ensuring that technology initiatives are well understood, well documented, and aligned with business priorities.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand needs, document requirements, and assess solution options.
- Support the evaluation, prioritization, and tracking of incoming IT demands in alignment with business and IT strategies.
- Maintain and continuously improve the inventory of business applications, including ownership, usage, dependencies, and lifecycle status.
- Contribute to application governance by supporting standardization, rationalization, and documentation efforts.
- Assist in the oversight of IT vendor contracts, including tracking deliverables, renewals, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Collaborate closely with IT teams, vendors, and business partners throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Business Solutions processes, tools, and documentation.
- Perform other related duties or participate in special projects, as required.
- Develop an understanding of shipping business processes in order to collaborate with the business on designing ways to automate/improve them and their related activities.
- Remain current with shipping technologies and emerging trends.
- Act as a backup for application management.
WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON
The ideal candidate has:
- A university degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT engaging in at least three of the following: business analysis, system analysis, procurement, system implementation and project management.
- Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to see both detail and the bigger picture.
- Excellent attention to details.
- Notable communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of and experience with system integrations (e.g., APIs, data flows, application interfaces).
- Knowledge of and experience with AI models or AI‑enabled solutions (e.g., chatbots or virtual assistants, document or email classification, data extraction and summarization, process automation, or decision‑support tools).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with ticketing or demand management tools is an asset.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is required due to frequent interactions with internal and international stakeholders.
- Experience in the shipping or transportation industry, an asset.
