POSITION OVERVIEW

The Business Advisor/Senior Business Advisor, BDC Advisory Services delivers standard and customized advisory services projects for a specific practice, with a focus on professional, high-quality solutions that help entrepreneurs develop their business. He or she manages project delivery; provides subject matter expertise and, occasionally, sales support; and helps promote the practice’s offering.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Deliver standard and customized advisory services projects.

  • Provide an extensive offering of impactful services, including, but not limited to, the implementation of ISO 9001 standard (quality management), cybersecurity and privacy standards (ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and others) to targeted entrepreneurs. The focus will be on delivering professional, high-quality solutions that help entrepreneurs develop their business.

  • Manage project delivery by monitoring project scope, budget, schedule and objectives, and perform quality assurance on projects and deliverables.

  • Serve as a “subject matter expert” and stay current on market trends to support the development and evolution of practice solutions and tools.

  • Contribute to business development.

  • Provide sales support by performing client need diagnostics and providing input for custom proposals.

  • Work closely with Client Partners to help transfer knowledge and expertise, define scope, deliver projects, uncover opportunities, and sell new mandates.

  • Contribute to the practice outreach activities by developing marketing content and conducting presentations to public audience to promote the offering.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BAA), IT or related professional designation (Master’s degree in related field would be an asset).

  • Minimum of 5 years in a consulting firm, with experience in implementing risk management frameworks specifically in cybersecurity

  • Training or significant experience in implementing frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI DSS, NIST CSF or other.

  • Privacy security training.

  • Internal auditor training.

  • In-depth subject matter expertise.

  • Ability to develop pragmatic solutions that are relevant in a SME business environment and to provide strategic coaching to the business, as required.

  • Strong client and customer service orientation, with a clear focus on delivering value to the client.

  • Proven ability to manage and deliver standard and custom consulting projects.

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices in the context of delivering services to clients.

  • Demonstrated project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as an ability to participate in outreach, promotion and business development activities.

  • Collaboration and ability to effectively engage and manage relationships with a high volume of diverse stakeholders (Clients, Client Partners, Account Managers, Consultants, Business Advisors,…) with emotional intelligence.

  • Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written, in a professional context.

  • Travel within a limited geographic area, with occasional travel to other locations across Canada, if required.
