The Bilingual Senior Account Manager will oversee client relationships, manage integrated marketing campaigns, and mentor team members while demonstrating expertise in communications marketing for retail clients.

Edelman Montreal is looking for a Bilingual Senior Account Manager to play a major role on our Brand practice. We need a strategic, confident and detailed senior manager, who can be a strong backbone for the integrated brand team. You must have an eagle eye for editing, a quick learning curve, be able to grasp complex issues and processes, and show knowledge and curiosity in order to offer qualified opinions on how to translate our clients’ visions into reality. You’ll have strong communications and marketing experience working with Canadian retail clients (experience working on CPG and home products segments preferred), with the ability to communicate fluently in both English and French.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with client leads, creative, and digital teams to plan projects and respond to briefs
- Support the client lead in developing integrated marketing and communication plans for key target audiences based on strong strategic insights
- Serve as the client relationship manager and primary day-to-day contact
- Provide leadership in total account management, including project planning, work-back schedules, timelines, and execution processes
- Play a key role in researching, planning, and developing campaigns while driving plans forward
- Demonstrate the ability to segment stories by angle for different journalist beats and specialist verticals
- Possess a practical understanding of earned, owned, paid, and social media channels and how to integrate them into holistic communications programs
- Pitch ideas persuasively to media, clients, and internal teams
- Act as the day-to-day lead contact for PR and communications counsel across consumer and corporate divisions
- Show an advanced understanding of all facets of the communications marketing mix, including digital, social media, in-store activations, visual content, earned media, and advertising
- Mentor, coach, and support team members at all levels
- Maintain a strong understanding of core financial principles including revenue, profitability, pricing models (hourly vs. retainer), utilization, realization, budgeting, and forecasting
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Strong understanding of the traditional, social and digital markets as it relates to consumer brands, with 5-7 years’ experience in PR; preference will be given to candidates with relatable industry experience and/or knowledge
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple sizable accounts simultaneously, and multiple stakeholders such as clients in numerous time zones and external agency partners
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to write across a wide variety of platforms
- Demonstrated ability to effectively multitask, delegate and manage assignments and accurately evaluate the work of others
- Familiarity with best practice communications tactics and public relations tools, ability to appropriately recommend them and lead the execution of all related projects in house
- Ability to act as a client contact and to be responsible for client-related finance management, including managing large projects within budget
- Enthusiasm and eagerness to join a challenging and rewarding account; ability to motivate and inspire more junior team members demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values (Quality, Integrity, Respect, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Mutual Benefits) and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
- Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken, is required
