One of Canada’s Most Trusted Investment Brands.

At Picton Mahoney Asset Management (PICTON Investments), being alternative isn’t just what we do—it’s who we are.

Founded by industry pioneer David Picton, we’ve spent 20 years challenging conventional wisdom and redefining the investing landscape. As one of Canada’s most trusted investment brands, we are proudly independent—privately run, 100% employee-owned, and deeply committed to delivering results for our clients.

Thinking Alternatively is in Our DNA.

With a team of 203 bold thinkers—one-third dedicated solely to investment management—we are specialists, not generalists. Managing $15.9 billion for institutional and retail clients, we navigate markets with conviction, resilience, and a forward-thinking approach.

We’re more than investors — we’re innovators. We challenge traditional investment mindsets, constantly pushing the boundaries to achieve our mission: To bring greater certainty to investors.

Our success is built on four guiding principles:

  • Treat investors’ money like our own.
  • Redefine the way investors invest.
  • Be human—always approachable.
  • Succeed together, one investment at a time.

These aren’t just words—they define how we think, how we invest, and how we work.

Now, we’re entering our next chapter. We’re transforming our brand and reshaping the way the world invests. If you think alternatively, embrace an entrepreneurial spirit, and thrive in a dynamic, bureaucracy-free environment, join us and be part of what’s next.

Thriving in Our Entrepreneurial Culture

At PICTON Investments, you’ll thrive in our creative and dynamic workplace, where collaboration and support are at the core of everything we do. At our firm, you’ll have the opportunity to take on significant responsibilities, work in a flexible environment, and tackle challenging projects from the outset. Our culture is designed for ambitious professionals who want to make an immediate impact while continuing to push boundaries and achieve our greater mission. You’ll be empowered with a high level of responsibility, trust, and flexibility, providing an exciting and creative space for you to help reshape how the world views alternative investments. With competitive total rewards, performance-based bonuses, and a clear path for career growth, you’ll have everything you need to develop both now and over the longer term.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Bilingual Portfolio Strategist to join our Second Engine Portfolio Consulting team, a group that leverages PICTON Investments’ portfolio management, quantitative, and risk management expertise to help clients make better investment decisions.

In this role, you’ll become a trusted partner to investment advisors, institutional investors, and head office strategists—bringing clarity, conviction, and solutions to complex portfolio challenges. You’ll lead consultations that uncover risks, sharpen asset allocation, and design strategies that align with client goals, all while elevating PICTON’s presence in Quebec and across Canada.

If you thrive on translating complexity into clarity, excel at building high-value relationships, and want to help reshape how Canadians think about portfolio construction, this is your chance to make an immediate impact.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn and lead:

Sales Enablement & Client Engagement

  • Build recurring, consulting-based relationships with investment advisors, institutional investors, and head office strategists.
  • Represent the Second Engine portfolio consulting team in the Quebec market as a trusted portfolio construction expert.
  • Lead portfolio consultations to define goals, diagnose risks, and design more resilient and efficient portfolios.
  • Partner with sales and investment strategists to build multi-disciplinary teams for top-tier opportunities.
  • Represent PICTON Investments at regional industry conferences.

Portfolio Construction Expertise

  • Deliver thought leadership on portfolio construction and alternative investment trends.
  • Conduct detailed portfolio analysis focused on allocation, structure, and risk management.
  • Design and deliver analytical reports on construction, attribution, and risk.
  • Collaborate with Product, Quant, Investment, Sales, and Marketing teams to develop new capabilities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English (native-level French strongly preferred).
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in a client-facing strategist or portfolio consulting role.
  • A post-secondary degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, quantitative finance, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • CFA and/or CAIA designation (or actively pursuing).
  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction, risk management, and hedge fund strategies.
  • Eligibility for registration as an Advising Representative.
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable narratives.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the presence to inspire confidence and trust.
  • A solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to different client needs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% across Canada.
