The Pension Calculation Verification Consultant is responsible for identifying calculation test scenarios that will ensure proper test coverage, running those calculation tests using our retirement calculation software, verifying them, and reporting and tracking the resolution of any anomalies detected.
At TELUS Health, this role will provide the selected candidate with expertise in pension calculation verification and pension administration that is unmatched in the Canadian and U.S. markets. What you'll do:

  • Communicates with functional leaders, business analysts to have a clear understanding of the scope of testing

  • Analyzes technical documents to identify required test scenarios

  • Executes and verifies the calculation results of the test scenarios, reports anomalies

  • Keeps the test suite up-to-date with new features added or changes to existing features

  • Participates in team meetings and calculation review sessions

  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams for problem solving

  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of verification processes 

What you bring:

  • University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or finance

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with Canadian and/or U.S. pension plans

  • Experience in verification of pension plan calculations

  • Proficiency in pension calculation tools and Excel

  • Fluency in English and French (written and verbal)

  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar job management tools (asset)

  • VBA programming skills (asset)

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

  • Proven problem-solving ability and effective priority management

  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and independently
