Job Description:

We’re looking for an energetic and talented fully bilingual communicator who can tell good stories. Ideally you have some experience with creative design and know how to problem-solve in a fast-paced production environment. You would be joining the Sponsor-Specific Client Engagement team (there’s 10 of us). Our team creates meaningful, personalized Group Retirement Services (GRS) communications designed to educate and engage our Sun Life Clients.

More about what Campaign Specialists do

  • Write clear, engaging plain language marketing copy, for digital, mobile and print
  • Make light edits to templates in Word and InDesign to create a personalized communication for specific plan sponsors
  • Execute complex B2C-style communication campaigns, end-to-end (from content creation to deployment, largely by email)
  • Create digital and print tactics to achieve campaign objectives. Examples: a booklet informing of an update to investment lineup, a flyer promoting financial literacy or an email encouraging increasing contributions every pay
  • Use Wrike (a project management tool that combines a creative brief and workback schedule) to execute your project on time, interact with stakeholders and keep track of progress
  • Collaborate with internal teams (such as Client Relationship Executives, Member Education Consultants,  Implementation Project Managers, Legal, Compliance, Brand and Linguistic Services) and external plan sponsors/consultants
  • Work with Graphic Designers and Member Experience Consultants to brainstorm  and develop innovative design concepts that reflect the desired strategy and Sun Life’s brand personality

What makes you the ideal candidate?

  • You have experience writing consumer-level marketing communications
  • You’re a plain language advocate
  • You’re comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, using your proven project management skills to maintain scope, timelines and budget
  • You’re comfortable targeting distinct audiences within each project, writing specific messaging for each and recommending the best channel
  • You’re creative and would enjoy collaborating with designers, translators, external agencies and print/production companies
  • You’re comfortable in a consultative environment and open to working with multiple stakeholders across the organization, at all levels
  • You have experience influencing partners, setting expectations, and enforcing guidelines/business boundaries while maintaining relationships
  • s this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

What else are we looking for?

  • A post-secondary education in Journalism, Marketing Communications or English
  • Experience in progressive copywriting and editing
  • You come with a diverse perspective and background
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Wrike, Microsoft Sharepoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • (Bonus points) Experience in InDesign
  • (Bonus points) Experience in Behavioural Economics
  • (Bonus points) Experience in financial services (group benefits or savings preferred)

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
