JOB INFORMATION:

 

Our end client, a Government of Canada department  has provided to Partner Departments, Level 1 and Level 2 Workplace Technology Support Services. WTS is also responsible for the planning, installation, maintenance and support of the Workplace Technology environment : user workstations, networked printers, peripherals and software.

Our client requires external resources to assist with this work and will establish a Supply arrangement with qualified technical support firms upon which it can draw from.

SCOPE OF WORK

Task Description:

·       The selected contractor will report to the Team Leader of the Workplace Technology Hardware Management team (WTHM) and will work in conjunction with the Workplace Technology Services group/staff (WTS).  The tasks the Contractor will be expected to perform include, but are not limited to, the following: 

·       IT Hardware Management - Involved in several phases of the IT Asset Management lifecycle for WTS using ITIL processes.

·       IT Asset receive, shipments, validate against packing slips and update databases

·       Asset tagging, tracking and data updates throughout lifecycle via databases or generic mailboxes

·       Warehousing / inventory management / physical control (secure storage)

·       Ship/deliver IT Asset inventory to service centres, users or regional deployment centres

·       IT Asset physical inventories

·       IT Asset triage and preparation for disposal

·       IT Asset data sanitization and secure destruction of hard drives (shredding)

·       Monitor stock levels; identify and initiate requests for client based on minimum stock levels

·       Coordinate and complete IT Asset reviews/audits on behalf of the division

·       Lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 25lbs

·       Liaise with internal and external clients and service providers

·       Drive minivan in the Gatineau/Ottawa region (must have valid driver’s licence)

 

 

 

Other duties:

·       Develop and/or maintain process mapping and documentation for WTHM deliverables

·       Assist the Team Leader in his/her deliverables as required

·       Provide support to other members of the team as required

 

Constraints:

The Contractor must provide their services on-site during regular work hours (between 8:00 and 16:00 hrs) Monday through Friday, generally not exceeding 37.5 hours per week. It is expected, though, that the Contractor will work extended hours as required. As such, the Contractor must indicate their availability to work extended hours.

The Contractor providing the services must be fluent in English and/or in French (speaking, reading and writing) to communicate to senior management, management and team members.

Location of Work:

Work will be conducted from a workstations located in the NCA region (Gatineau/Ottawa).

The Bidder must demonstrate how the proposed resource has a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years of the management of IT desktop assets in several phases of the IT Asset Management life cycle (end to end) using ITIL processes.

M2

The Bidder must demonstrate how the proposed resource has a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years in two (2) or more of the following in an IT Asset Management environment:

 

- Asset tagging & tracking and database updates throughout lifecycle via databases or generic mailboxes

 

- Warehousing / inventory management / physical control (secure storage)

 

- Receive shipments of IT Assets, validate against packing slips and update databases

M3

The Bidder must demonstrate how the proposed resource has strong communications and interpersonal skills by gaining a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years in the following areas:

 

- Liaise with internal and external clients and service providers.
