A Strategic Role at the Heart of Logistics

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Automation

  • Design, deploy, and optimize automated sorting systems (conveyors, robotic arms, sensors, vision-based technologies).
  • Understand how Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and microcontrollers operate and how they integrate into the overall automation architecture.
  • Ensure system consistency and interoperability across different components.

Deployment & Commissioning

  • Collaborate with vendors and partners to install and commission automated sorting equipment.
  • Coordinate technical prerequisites (infrastructure, hardware, software) to ensure smooth integration into existing operations.

Performance, Optimization & Maintenance

  • Monitor sorting system performance and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Diagnose and resolve accuracy and reliability issues using data-driven analysis.
  • Develop KPIs, reports, and dashboards to track and manage system performance.
  • Structure and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance processes to ensure equipment availability.

Requirements Analysis & Documentation

  • Define and formalize functional and technical requirements for sorting systems.
  • Produce key project documentation (business cases, process flows, UAT, user stories, BRD).
  • Model processes and validate requirements with business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to procedure documentation, training materials, and support solution adoption.

Collaboration & Operational Support

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, operations, production).
  • Coordinate with vendors to identify and deploy new automation technologies.
  • Provide operational support during deployments, testing phases, and pilot projects.

Qualifications

Experience, Education & Skills

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics, with hands-on exposure to automation and process optimization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations (first, middle, and last mile).
  • Experience with WMS, TMS, and automation technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and propose practical, operational solutions.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with strong decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong command of both French and English to operate in a bilingual environment.
