Art Director - 3D Data Visualisation Specialist

Astucemedia is creating a new Art Director - 3D Specialist position, to join our team based in Montreal. The Art Director - 3D Specialist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality 3D design, motion graphics, and visual content creation across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a unique combination of artistic vision, technical expertise, and leadership to the role. Working closely with the creative, technical, and project management teams, the Art Director will ensure the successful execution of innovative 3D visual experiences that meet both client needs and company objectives. This role requires staying up-to-date with the latest trends in design, technology, and multimedia production to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Responsibilities:

Creative Direction & Conceptualization:

Develop creative concepts, from initial brainstorming to final execution, ensuring that all designs are innovative, impactful, and aligned with client objectives.

Develop & Oversee 3D & 2D content creation, including data visualization, design, animations, and immersive experiences, ensuring that visual elements elevate the overall user experience.

Delivery:

Ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of design projects, presenting concepts and final deliverables to clients with clarity and professionalism.

Collaborate to the entire design lifecycle from ideation to delivery, ensuring seamless communication between internal teams and stakeholders.

Technical Expertise & Knowledge Development:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, design technologies, and software advancements (including 3D, animation tools, and real-time production systems).

Provide creative solutions for complex visual challenges & data visualisation ensuring the latest design trends and technologies are integrated into projects.

Design & Visual Content Creation:

Direct and create 3D & 2D Data Visualisation, motion graphics, and animations for broadcast, web, and multimedia platforms.

Collaborate with teams to design and execute visual assets such as on-air graphics, promotional materials, logos, and branding elements.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the Associate Creative Directors, CCO and other departments to ensure alignment on creative direction and project expectations.

Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages team growth, creativity, and high performance.

Brand Consistency & Innovation:

Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines, maintaining a cohesive visual identity across all platforms.

Promote creative experimentation, encouraging the team to explore fresh, innovative design ideas that push the boundaries of traditional visual storytelling.

Skills & Competencies:

Design Mastery:

Expertise in 3D & 2D Data Visualization, graphics and motion, animation, and visual effects. Proficient in industry-standard design software like Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects) and 3D tools (e.g., 3D Max, Cinema 4D, Blender, V-Ray, Unreal Engine).

Technical Acumen:

In-depth understanding of real-time production systems and virtual production environments. Familiarity with rendering pipelines and real-time 3D workflows.

Creativity & Problem Solving:

A visionary thinker who can develop creative solutions to complex visual challenges while keeping client objectives in focus.

Attention to Detail:

A sharp eye for detail, ensuring the highest quality standards are met across all visual content.

Required Experience:

A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role as an Art Director, preferably with a focus on 3D design and animation.

Proven experience managing design projects from concept to delivery.

Demonstrated portfolio showcasing expertise in 3D design, motion graphics, and animation across multiple platforms.

Strong understanding of real-time 3D production pipelines, AR/VR, and multimedia experiences
