Android Engineer

Aescape is looking for an Android Engineer who can develop sophisticated user interfaces and build complex UI components to drive intuitive controls for our AI-powered massage experience as we prepare to ship our massage experience to hundreds of new locations. This is an amazing opportunity for you to own the mobile experience development for our robotics platform and develop your hardware-software integration skills as we revolutionize the massage therapy industry. This position is based onsite at our San Francisco office.

• Develop and implement sophisticated user interfaces for our AI-powered massage experience, creating intuitive controls that seamlessly bridge human interaction with advanced robotics.

• Build complex, responsive UI components on our custom Android platform that enable real-time communication between users and our robotic massage systems.

• Collaborate with our roboticists to translate cutting-edge robotics algorithms into user-friendly mobile experiences.

• Partner closely with Product Engineering, UX designers, and robotics engineers to implement features that showcase our breakthrough autonomous massage technology.

• Contribute to architectural decisions that support our mission of creating the world's most advanced human-robot wellness interactions.

• Establish and refine development practices that ensure reliable, safety-critical software for our commercial robotics deployment.
  

• Deep experience building intuitive, high-performance user interfaces with modern Android technologies including Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

• Proven ability to develop complex UI components that handle real-time data streams and device communications.

• Experience collaborating with hardware teams or working on projects involving physical device integration.

• A track record of working in fast-paced environments where software directly impacts user safety and experience.

• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail, especially important when developing interfaces for precision robotics systems.

• Competitive pay + bonus + equity plan. The salary range for the role is $145,000-$175,000
