As a valued member of our team, you will:
- Be responsible for the analysis, validation, and processing of critical data using TELUS Health's proprietary internal systems/software
- Perform data reconciliations and benefit/cost calculations that have a direct impact on our clients' financial well-being
- Prepare standard pension benefit calculations/statements (retirements, terminations, etc.) in accordance with plan rules and legislative requirements
- Assist with other pension administration tasks, contributing to the financial security of thousands of Canadians
- Work with databases and internal software/systems to achieve accurate and timely results Prepare data and perform actuarial valuations for pension plans, life insurance companies, corporations, and social security plans
- Understand and analyze financial statements and actuarial reports for life and property insurers
- Build sophisticated spreadsheets/databases using Excel and Access to analyze complex data sets
- Prepare draft analysis reports that inform strategic decision-making
- Receive and respond to common requests for information and queries with professionalism and expertise
- Receive direction and support team members in a collaborative environment
- Attend in-house training sessions to develop your knowledge of industry topics and trends
- Assist with special projects, as needed, by expanding your skills and experience
- Familiarize yourself with international regulatory environments, legislation and policies
What you bring
Required:
- University degree in actuarial science or mathematics
- Successful completion of at least 3 SOA (Society of Actuaries) exams - preferred
- Strong proficiency with MS Office, especially Word, Excel and Access
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills combined with a strong work ethic
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Dedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and self-direction
- Education in actuarial science, business administration, mathematics or computer science
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Excel, Access and VBA software
- Knowledge of programming languages in SQL, VBA, Python, R
Asset:
- Knowledge of GGY AXIS considered an asset
