Reporting to the Senior Associate, Investment, we are looking for an Analyst, Investment. In this role, you will collaborate across teams and asset classes to help optimize portfolio positioning, through development of financial models and analytics to support strategic decision-making.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the implementation of the total portfolio to follow the Total Portfolio's asset allocation targets both in terms of capital and risk budget
- Contribute to the centralized management of liquidity, funding, leverage, collateral, currency, and duration of the Total Portfolio
- Build reports and dashboards to monitor our portfolio's positioning in real time from various angles (systemic risk, idiosyncratic risk, factors, sectors, geographies, liquidity, etc.)
- Perform portfolio analysis and research on various asset classes
- Conduct macro-economic and cross-asset analysis
- Monitor economic, market, and investment trends and provide research support to inform portfolio deployment and tactical positions
- Coordinate with investment, middle-office, legal, and tax teams to support accurate structuring and booking of positions and P&L
- Collaborate with investment team on various projects for all asset classes
WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON
The ideal candidate has:
- An academic background (ideally M.Sc.) in Finance, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, or related field
- Experience or internships in portfolio construction, portfolio management, capital markets, or investment strategy, preferably at an institutional level
- Working towards a professional designation, such as CFA or FRM, is considered an asset
- Strong analytical, quantitative, research and financial modeling skills combined with the ability to communicate clear insights from complex concepts
- Strong understanding of financial markets and interest in public market investing and capital allocation
- Understanding of both physical derivatives instruments preferred
- Knowledge of SQL and Python
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- A high attention to detail combined with ability to see the bigger picture
- Ability to prioritize and deliver high-quality work within deadlines
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and ability to navigate ambiguity and complex situations
- Bilingualism (English/French)*
