Validate AI That CFOs Trust

Maxa, an AI-first organization, is seeking a tech-savvy accounting professional to become our first-ever AI-First Enterprise Finance Quality Analyst.

Maxa Analyst is the first auditable finance AI analyst, enabling users to ask complex business questions in plain English and receive auditable, finance-grade answers. Every answer Maxa Analyst provides must be trustworthy enough to brief a CFO or withstand audit scrutiny.

The real impact: Your validation work will enable faster expansion into new verticals, more confident customer deployments, and ultimately, better business decisions made with AI assistance. You'll directly influence how enterprises trust and adopt AI-powered business intelligence.

Everything is to be built from the ground up.

The Impact You'll Make

As an AI-First Senior Enterprise Finance Quality Analyst, you'll be at the intersection of corporate finance expertise and AI validation, establishing the control standards that enable CFOs to trust AI-powered business intelligence. Within our Product team, you will work closely with the engineering and customer delivery teams.

You'll bridge the crucial gap between financial precision and AI innovation by:

  • Validating financial logic across diverse industries—aerospace & aviation, industrial manufacturing, banking and financial services, and wholesale distribution—ensuring every AI-generated answer meets board presentation standards
  • Establishing quality standards that enable rapid expansion into new verticals: defining testing workflows, tool usage, and reporting standards
  • Creating comprehensive test scenarios that translate complex business requirements into validation protocols—from intercompany eliminations to revenue recognition policies
  • Applying corporate finance judgment to verify revenue flows, cost allocations, and business unit consolidations makes operational sense across different business models
  • Leveraging SQL basics to validate data quality, system integrations, and financial data accuracy
  • Pioneering AI validation approaches specific to financial analysis, where "close enough" isn't acceptable and every number must reconcile

You're The Right Fit If:

  • You have the finance foundation - 5-10 years in corporate FP&A, CPA practice (Big 4 or industry), financial transformation consulting, or transaction advisory
  • You know how businesses actually work - Deep operational expertise in at least 2-3 business models: manufacturing (standard costing, BOM, supply chain economics), SaaS/Tech (ARR/MRR, CAC, unit economics), Retail/CPG (same-store sales, inventory turns), Parts & labour economics, or Professional services (utilization rates, project profitability)
  • You can context-switch rapidly across industries and recognize patterns across different business models
  • You have the technical chops - SQL proficiency for data validation and reconciliation (you can write basic queries and understand database structures)
  • Experience testing ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) or BI platforms
  • You possess a natural ability to see the big picture while maintaining exceptional attention to detail—you won't sign off until the numbers reconcile and the logic is airtight
  • You can leverage AI to rapidly acquire vertical knowledge while applying your core financial judgment

This Position Is NOT For You If:

  • You're looking for a traditional QA role focused purely on technical testing without business context
  • You prefer specialized depth in one industry over the intellectual diversity of cross-industry validation
  • You want to avoid direct interaction with product teams and engineering
  • You're not energized by building frameworks from scratch in ambiguous, pioneering territory

What We Offer

  • Base salary to be discussed as it’s a brand new position
  • Generous vacation: 4 weeks in first year, 5 weeks thereafter
  • RRSP: Employer contribution after 3 months
  • On-site chef: Three-course meals for just $12
  • Growth potential: Post Series A growth with stock options
  • Pioneering opportunity: Be among the first to establish AI-first financial control standards

What Your Integration Will Look Like

Join our Product team under the leadership of Raya Zachs, VP Product & Engineering, who leads with a focus on quality, rigour, and product excellence.

From day one:

  • You'll have access to Maxa Analyst and real customer datasets to understand what you're validating
  • We'll introduce you to our current beta deployments, where your validation frameworks will be immediately applied
  • You'll help establish the QA framework —documentation standards, testing plans, tools workflow
  • By week 2, you'll be validating real customer use cases and providing feedback that directly influences product development

This is a creation role—you're building the quality function, not inheriting one.

Recruitment Process

  1. Initial screening with Marion (45 min, phone call) — Cultural fit and background review
  2. Hiring Manager interview with Raya (30 min, GMeet) — Role expectations and team fit
  3. Technical & Finance validation with Sam (CFO) & Raya (90 min, in-person) — Includes practical test using Maxa Analyst with real dataset

Timeline: 2-3 weeks from application to offer
