Company Description

For more than 40 years, LGI has been developing software solutions for the healthcare sector. Today, AI is at the core of how we build software and the next generation of our solutions, not as an end in itself, but as a powerful enabler of our mission: helping healthcare organizations improve their performance.

We are looking for exceptional talent, people who are passionate about technology, naturally curious, and driven by high standards. Individuals for whom exploring and innovating are second nature, and who want to apply their skills to a mission that goes beyond writing code to positively influence decisions, processes, and ultimately, patient care.

We are committed to diversity and equal employment opportunities for everyone. If you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please let us know.

Job Description

Artificial intelligence is at the core of how we design, modernize, and evolve our healthcare solutions. The tools, models, and practices are advancing rapidly, and we are looking for ambitious, curious developers who can learn quickly and continuously adapt.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain application modules using AI and AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) within a technology ecosystem built on C, C++, C#, Delphi, DevExpress, application services, and Oracle (PL/SQL).
  • Debug complex issues in a multi-technology environment with numerous integrations.
  • Generate, validate, and evolve unit tests with AI assistance.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation using AI-powered tools.
  • Keep the end user in mind: what you build is used by clinicians and has a direct impact on patient care.
  • Participate in code reviews, applying critical judgment to AI-generated code.
  • Quickly explore and understand an existing codebase by leveraging AI to accelerate onboarding and ramp-up.
  • Help maintain clinical data integrations (pipelines, HL7 v2 exchanges).
  • Develop AI-enhanced features and contribute to the design of models or integrations as needed within a highly complex architecture.
  • Stay current on AI tools, models, and best practices, and share your learnings with the team.
  • Take ownership of your deliverables, from understanding requirements through testing, documentation, and production deployment.
  • Comply with Law 25 and Quebec health sector regulatory requirements (LSSSS), under the guidance of the team.

How you'll use AI

  • Use AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) daily to generate, complete, and understand code, regardless of the technology stack required for the work.
  • Leverage AI to quickly build proficiency in unfamiliar technologies and codebases, rather than relying solely on deep expertise in a single technology stack.
  • Generate and critically evaluate automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end), assessing their relevance and coverage.
  • Implement AI-assisted quality controls within the delivery pipeline, including automated checks for compliance, accessibility, performance, and security.
  • Use AI to safely analyze, document, and modernize legacy code, reducing the risks associated with change.
  • Analyze logs, errors, and stack traces with AI assistance, alongside profiling tools, to accelerate debugging and performance optimization.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation using AI-powered tools.
  • Write precise prompts and refine them iteratively; recognize when AI is drifting from the objective and take control when necessary.
  • Quickly adopt new AI tools or models when they provide measurable gains and share your learnings with the team.

    Qualifications

What we're looking for above all

    Essential Qualifications

    • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of development experience with C, C++, C#, Delphi, DevExpress, application services, and Oracle (PL/SQL).
    • A fast and self-directed learner who explores, experiments, and grows independently without needing step-by-step guidance, and who can quickly adapt as technologies and ecosystems evolve.
    • Regular user of AI development tools, with the ability to deliver results and demonstrate productivity gains through AI.
    • Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
    • Intellectual curiosity, a passion for complex systems and architectures, and a genuine interest in understanding how things are built.
    • Strong foundations in object-oriented programming and algorithmic thinking.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in both English and French: you can clearly explain your reasoning, ask for help when needed, and contribute meaningfully to technical discussions, even in complex situations.
    • Values collective intelligence as a way to accelerate problem-solving and decision-making.
    • Keeps the customer and end user at the center of their thinking and decision-making, with a strong solution-oriented mindset in a constantly evolving environment.
    • Interest in working within a regulated industry (digital health).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
    • Ambition to continue growing and advancing your career.

    Nice-to-Have Qualifications

    • Experience with web development technologies (React, Angular, .NET).
    • Strong understanding of build and deployment pipelines.
    • Experience developing enterprise B2B solutions.
    • Solution architecture and modeling experience.
    • Experience developing AI-powered product features or integrating AI models into existing systems.
    • Personal projects or open-source contributions involving AI. An active GitHub presence and experimentation outside of work are highly valued.
    • Knowledge of data integration or messaging standards and exchanges (HL7 v2, etc.).

      Additional Information

Here are the many benefits designed to support your personal and professional well-being, as well as your financial health:

      • Work remotely, from the office, or in a hybrid environment, with flexible scheduling options that promote both work-life balance and performance.
      • Comprehensive group insurance plan and group RRSP with employer contributions, effective from your first day.
      • A minimum of 3 weeks of vacation, plus 5 personal days per year.
      • Access to a telemedicine service and a comprehensive employee and family assistance program.
      • Financial support for training and professional development.
      • More than 40 years of expertise in healthcare IT, offering a wide range of career growth opportunities.
      • Projects that incorporate Agile methodologies.
      • Employee discount program.
      • An organizational culture firmly rooted in the values of courage, determination, excellence, and collaboration, which bring us together to develop technology solutions for the healthcare sector.

If this opportunity interests you, we would be delighted to tell you more about the role, the team, and life at LGI Healthcare Solutions.
