This Position reports to:

Business controller
 

As an Accounting Intern, you will be part of the Finance/Accounting team and will share responsibility with colleagues for general, financial, and manufacturing accounting for the Iberville and St‑Jean‑sur‑Richelieu business units. The position will be primarily on‑site.

Your Responsibilities

  • Contribute to maintaining the asset register.

  • Perform physical counts of manufacturing assets (equipment, tools, machines).

  • Verify the existence and location of assets on the production floor.

  • Document asset additions, removals, disposals, and transfers.

  • Update information in the ERP system.

  • Support reconciliation between physical assets and accounting data.

  • Assist with analyses related to inventory activities and other operational expenses for the business unit.

  • Actively participate in month‑end accounting processes, including account analysis, account reconciliations, journal entry creation, inventory analysis, and balance reconciliations.

  • Perform various related tasks as required.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with a CPA designation or in progress.

  • Three to five years of experience in an accounting or financial analysis role.

  • Strong analytical thinking, ability to connect different parts of a problem, collaborate effectively, and show initiative.

  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, with intermediate/advanced Excel skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bilingualism (French and English) is considered an asset; French is required.
