We’re seeking an Accountant to take ownership of financial operations, accounting, and bookkeeping for Xona’s Montreal-based Canadian entity. Working in-tandem with the Operations Manager and the Burlingame, California Financial Operations team, the Accountant will work to position Xona Canada’s financial infrastructure and processes for high-growth scalability. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in establishing accounting processes that support manufacturing and logistical procurement in scale-up environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Own accounting pathways from expense to capture to close, ensuring appropriate recordkeeping and reconciliation is completed for Xona’s Canadian entity

  • Assist in the management of large-scope financial operations, coordinating with the Operations team for cost accounting, budget tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting

  • Own accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring payments are processed in a timely manner with coordination from our external vendors and stakeholders

  • Support month-end and year-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations in support of compliance and audit preparation

  • Enforce and support multi-location, inter-entity accounting practices to ensure transfer pricing protocols are respected

  • Coordinate with program managers and external governmental contacts to accurately recognize revenue and contract milestones

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

  • 4 - 8 years of experience in financial operations, or a similar field

  • Understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices (GAAP) in Canada and the United States

  • Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel)

  • Familiarity and exposure to QuickBooks, or similar ERPs

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a dynamic, fast-growth scale-up environment

  • Interest and exposure to aerospace, satellite systems, or technology-driven industries is highly desirable

  • Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, particularly over-time revenue recognition

  • Experience with ERP implementation and cost accounting practices

Travaillant en étroite collaboration avec le ou la gestionnaire des opérations ainsi qu’avec l’équipe des opérations financières de Burlingame, en Californie, la personne retenue contribuera à structurer l’infrastructure et les processus financiers de Xona Canada afin de soutenir une forte croissance.

La personne idéale possède une expérience concrète dans la mise en place de processus comptables soutenant les activités manufacturières et les approvisionnements logistiques au sein d’entreprises en croissance rapide.

Vos Responsabilités

  • Prendre en charge les processus comptables, de la gestion des dépenses jusqu’à la clôture financière, en veillant à ce que la tenue des dossiers et les rapprochements soient effectués adéquatement pour l’entité canadienne de Xona

  • Participer à la gestion d’opérations financières de grande envergure, en collaboration avec l’équipe des opérations, notamment pour la comptabilité des coûts, le suivi budgétaire, les prévisions financières et la production de rapports financiers

  • Assurer la gestion des comptes fournisseurs et des comptes clients, en veillant au traitement des paiements dans les délais requis et en coordonnant les activités avec les fournisseurs externes et les parties prenantes

  • Soutenir les activités de clôture mensuelle et annuelle, incluant les écritures comptables et les rapprochements de comptes, afin d’assurer la conformité et la préparation des audits

  • Appliquer et soutenir les pratiques comptables interentités et multisites afin d’assurer le respect des protocoles de prix de transfert

  • Collaborer avec les gestionnaires de programme et les représentants gouvernementaux externes afin d’assurer la comptabilisation adéquate des revenus et des jalons contractuels

Qualifications requises

  • Baccalauréat en comptabilité, en finance ou dans un domaine connexe

  • De 4 à 8 années d’expérience en opérations financières ou dans un domaine similaire

  • Bonne compréhension des principes et pratiques comptables généralement reconnus (PCGR) au Canada et aux États-Unis

  • Maîtrise des feuilles de calcul (Excel)

  • Connaissance de QuickBooks ou d’autres systèmes ERP similaires

  • Grand souci du détail et excellentes aptitudes organisationnelles

Qualifications souhaitées

  • Capacité à travailler de façon autonome et à établir les priorités dans un environnement dynamique et en forte croissance

  • Intérêt pour l’aérospatiale, les systèmes satellitaires ou les industries axées sur les technologies, ou expérience dans ces secteurs

  • Expérience avec la norme ASC 606 relative à la comptabilisation des revenus, particulièrement la comptabilisation des revenus au fil du temps

  • Expérience en implantation de systèmes ERP et en comptabilité des coûts

For Canada Roles: Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
