What you will do
- The 6G Researcher Radio Standardization is responsible for developing concepts for Ericsson to contribute in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) RAN1 working group.
- This role involves contributing to the development and maintenance of technical specifications and creating the 6G RAN standard.
- You will be part of a team developing novel concepts and working with the standardization delegates to prepare standard contributions.
- This role plays a key role in shaping the future of mobile communications by collaborating with industry experts and stakeholders both internally and externally.
The skills you bring
Skills
- Ability to clearly convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in technical documentation and presentation skills in English.
- Ability to carry out own research with performance evaluations and to develop simulation tools.
Technical expertise
- 5+ years of proven experience in evolving radio access network technologies and standards.
Knowledge
- Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred).
- Deep knowledge of 5G NR physical layer and performance/RF requirements, including RAN algorithms such as MIMO, scheduling, beamforming, RRM and AI.
- Good understanding of 5G RAN network products and deployments.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate 3GPP processes, and drive consensus building in standardization environments.
Behaviors
- Ability to collaborate across organizations within a global company.
- Proven track record of fostering collaboration in a multi-disciplinary environment leading to successful project outcomes.
Expectation (first 3, 6 & 12 months) & Career path
- After 3-6 months you are established in the team and contribute to the team effort. After 12 months you are expected to be established as a technical authority for a sub-domain within the standardization area.
- Working as a 6G standardization researcher implies a wide professional network within the company and with customers, and is a great platform for future career paths in product design and testing, product management or customer business projects.
