What will you do?
This opportunity will be highly initiative-driven and in addition to set responsibilities the student will excel by seeking out their own opportunities to learn and add value. Key responsibilities include:
- Liaise with clients and the RBC distribution network over a variety of mediums (phone, internet,) to position new commercial clients & anchor the client with a Dedicated Regional Sales Person
- Connect clients to relevant daily/weekly market commentary distributions to share, market and economic events for the benefit of the client. Track view ship metrics
- Execute instructions from sales to adjust/ fine-tune pricing within onboarding competitive/optimal pricing
- Maintain a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure equal access to client information by all team members.
- Promote the use of Internet dealing to maximize productivity
- Work with Partners in Canadian banking to integrate with other platforms
- Liaise with internal partners (accounts managers, international business center) in the overall management of client relationships on behalf of the sales team.
- To ensure that dealings with counterparties are confidential and fairly handled
- Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
- Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
- Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions promptly.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- Successful completion of a minimum of first year of a undergraduate degree
- Extremely motivated and able to take initiative in order to identify ways to add value and improve practices
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, business sense and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in high pressure environments
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Host Webex Teams calls with clients may form part of this mandate and therefore comfort in speaking to large audiences or in a group setting is preferred
- Fluent (written and verbal) in French
Nice to have:
- CSC and CPH preferred and enrolment in CFA a strong asset
- A sound understanding of process of foreign exchange activation and required pre-dealing checks and documentation
- Prior related work experience valued
- Prior use of Bloomberg, Thomson and Reuters preferred

- Commercial FX desk – to support the Sales Effort
- Operations Staff – to facilitate trade settlement and other client requests
