The Senior Accountant manages monthly close activities, journal entries, accruals, allocations, amortization schedules, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role applies US GAAP, analyzes account activity and variances, maintains audit-ready documentation, supports internal controls and audits, and partners with departments to resolve accounting issues. Additional responsibilities include process improvement, automation initiatives, cross-training, and supporting global finance and allocation processes.

Supervise North American accounts payable operations and lead a team of AP specialists. Oversee invoice processing, payment cycles, vendor inquiries, expense reimbursements, workflows, compliance, and escalations. Monitor productivity and service levels, support month-end close and reporting, coach employees, and drive process improvements and system enhancements. Partner with Finance, Procurement, Treasury, and business stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain accurate, timely AP operations.

Processes and reconciles high-volume accounts payable transactions, including invoices, progress billings, expense reports, and vendor records. Resolves discrepancies, maintains accurate records, prepares aging and payment reports, and supports month-end and year-end close. The role analyzes AP processes, recommends improvements, monitors compliance, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders. It requires strong accounting knowledge, analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work autonomously in a hybrid Montreal environment.
