Lead backend development and ETL modernization for a financial-services client. Analyze and optimize existing ETL workflows, build Java and Spring Boot services, troubleshoot production issues, improve scalability and data enrichment, and collaborate with architects and analysts. The role includes documentation, code reviews, unit testing, continuous delivery, and mentoring junior developers. Candidates need 6+ years of backend development experience and must be located in Montreal for hybrid work.

Supports business and technology solution delivery by gathering and documenting requirements, creating user stories and process flows, analyzing processes, and coordinating with development and QA teams. Assists with Agile backlog refinement, sprint planning, user acceptance testing, issue and risk tracking, stakeholder communications, implementation, training, and operational readiness. Maintains accurate project and requirements documentation.

Develop and execute comprehensive tests for securitization and structured-finance applications, including functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing. Validate data flows, calculations, business rules, transaction lifecycles, and system interfaces. Investigate defects, support test automation, review requirements, prepare test evidence and release assessments, and assist with production deployments. Collaborate with technology, business, product, and operations teams in Agile environments.

Design, develop, tune, and maintain large-scale database platforms (Sybase, DB2) and support modernization to Snowflake/SingleStore. Perform performance tuning, upgrades, cloud deployments, automation with Python, and collaborate in an Agile environment to ensure resilient, scalable, and operationally stable database solutions.

Develop and maintain securities reference-data applications using Java or Python. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements, implement solutions, integrate JSON/XML data, optimize RDBMS/SQL processes in Linux, and ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.

Design, operate, and improve highly available, scalable production systems. Troubleshoot full stack issues, automate deployments and operations, implement monitoring/observability, mitigate reliability risks, and support production in a global follow-the-sun model while collaborating with engineering teams.
