Montreal-based Quantum eMotion announced a new partnership with Taiwanese company Jmem Technology. The two companies are combining their tech and expertise to build a quantum-resilient system-on-chip, or SOC. Quantum eMotion develops hardware and software security solutions for connected devices, while Jmem Tek specializes in secure semiconductor design.

The new hardware will combine quantum entropy, hardware-based identity and post-quantum encryption into a compact chip. Through this invention, Quantum eMotion aims to address the growing need for hardware-based security for quantum systems across sectors like blockchain, fintech, digital health, IoT, defense and national infrastructure.

“... we are advancing a solution that addresses security requirements not yet met by existing technologies,” Francis Bellido, Quantum eMotion’s CEO, said in a statement. “This positions QeM to participate in the growing demand for quantum-safe protection, as billions of connected devices and critical systems are expected to transition to stronger security standards over the coming years.”
