The opportunity
 

We are looking for a Test Engineer for our Surge Arrester Laboratory at High Voltage Products in Ludvika. High Voltage Products is a leading player in the development, manufacturing, and sales of high-voltage products for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy. Our manufacturing units include surge arresters, circuit breakers, capacitors, and other related equipment. We also offer services that ensure the performance of the products and extend their lifespan.

The High Power Laboratory is one of the few unique laboratories in the world for verifying the function of high-voltage products during various switching events that can occur in the power grid. We consist of several different laboratories, including the Surge Arrester Laboratory where this position is located. The laboratory is accredited by SWEDAC as an independent testing body for many different standards and norms.

As a Test Engineer at the Surge Arrester Laboratory, you will perform tests on various products manufactured by us. We are always at the forefront of technology and continuously invest in our facility and equipment. You will be part of a strong team where we help each other develop both technically and personally, and where everyone plays an incredibly important role. We focus on each individual’s development and want to promote further growth within the organization and the company.
Your responsibilities 

  • Responsibility for test assignments throughout the entire process, from test requests and technical review to calculations, circuit setup, testing, and report writing
  • Performing type tests according to international standards as well as development tests for our customers, who come from all over the world
  • Responsibility for electrical safety and the facility during testing
  • Analyzing test results and writing technical reports, mainly in English
  • Regular contact with customers and inspectors during testing
  • Together with your colleagues, you have the opportunity to develop and improve the business
  • You should share Hitachi Energy’s core values regarding safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while also feeling responsible for your colleagues and the business

Your background 

  • We expect you to have a university degree with a focus on electrical power and equivalent knowledge
  • Previous experience in testing is considered an advantage
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, writing and speaking
  • You easily absorb technical information and can translate theoretical knowledge into practice
  • You enjoy working in a team and can independently drive assignments
