Your Impact
As a Competitive Technical Marketing Engineer, you will:
* Conduct vendor analysis to research and assess competitors' offerings and capabilities, providing valuable insights to internal teams.
* Perform hands-on competitive testing of Tier 1 Campus Switching and Routing vendors, comparing their solutions to Cisco's products like Catalyst 9000 Series Switching, Catalyst 8000 Series Routing, and Meraki Cloud.
* Create content for Cisco's competitive knowledge base, including presentations, whitepapers, playbooks, and technical demos.
* Conduct solution testing, from feature-level assessments to architecture and solution-level evaluations.
* Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to provide strategic and tactical input for shaping the next generation of products.
* Design and deliver training programs, including webinars, onsite presentations, and demos, and represent Cisco at events like Cisco GSX, CiscoLive, and Sales Roadshows.
* Offer escalation support for critical competitive sales opportunities to the Cisco Global Win Center.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelors + 7 years of related experience, or Masters + 4 years of related experience, or PhD + 1 year of related experience
* Strong foundation in networking with hands-on expertise in switching, routing, and wireless technologies.
* Proficiency in content development tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Camtasia.
* CCNP-level expertise (CCIE track highly desirable).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working with production networks, especially in switching, routing, Identity Policy, and Network Management solutions.
* Familiarity with multi-vendor Campus Network solutions.
* Knowledge of industry network testing tools like Spirent Test Center or IXIA BreakingPoint.
* Approximately 10% travel availability.
* Ability to work independently while making a significant impact.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and public speaking experience.

- Exempt employees participate in Cisco's flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)
- 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
- Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
- Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies.

- .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

- Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
