Location: Remote with travel across Québec & Eastern Ontario

First Student is seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Human Resources Manager to support our operations across Québec and Eastern Ontario. This role is ideal for an HR professional with strong union experience, a passion for employee engagement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
What You’ll Do- Serve as a strategic HR partner to regional leadership and field operations.
- Lead initiatives in labor relations, dispute resolution, policy compliance, and leadership development.
- Maintain strong employee and labor relations through regular site visits and communication.
- Conduct investigations and provide coaching on fair and consistent handling of workplace matters.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on grievance handling and union-related issues.
- Support recruiting efforts, especially during new business acquisitions.
- Deliver training programs on performance management, employment law, and employee relations.
- Drive employee engagement and action planning across the region.
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English (written and spoken).
- Strong union experience and knowledge of grievance processes.
- Proven ability to build trust and foster engagement across diverse teams.
- Willingness to travel regularly across Québec and Eastern Ontario.
- Minimum 3–5 years of broad HR experience, including labor relations, employment law, and training.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
