A Strategic Role at the Heart of Logistics
Purpose of the Role
The Operational Projects Manager plays a strategic leadership role in driving the successful design, planning, improvement and execution of operational initiatives across Intelcom’s national network. This role oversees a portfolio of operational projects, ensuring alignment between business objectives, engineering solutions, and field execution. The Manager leads a team of Operational Projects Specialists and collaborates with senior stakeholders to deliver scalable, efficient, and sustainable operational transformations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Oversight
Define operational project scope, objectives, and success criteria in alignment with business goals
Lead the national planning and prioritization of operational projects
Oversee regional deployment of national solutions and ensure consistency in execution in collaboration with the HyperCare team.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Manage and mentor a team of Operational Projects Specialists.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, CI, Operations, Procurement, and Change Management.
Engage senior stakeholders to ensure buy-in, alignment, and resource support.
Execution & Performance Management
Monitor deliverables progress through KPIs, dashboards, and performance reviews.
Ensure solution alignment with initial business case.
Resolve escalated blockers and ensure timely decision-making.
Provide key operational updates to the PMO on strategic initiatives.
Ensure documentation (SOPs, WIs) and training materials are validated and deployed.
Conduct team post-mortems and integrate lessons learned into future initiatives.
Required Skills
Proven leadership in managing a team
Deep understanding of operational processes, logistics, and change management
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in project planning, risk mitigation, and performance tracking
Ability to influence across all levels of the organization
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
PMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or Agile certification strongly preferred
7+ years of experience in operations, project management, or process improvement
Experience leading national or enterprise-level deployments across multiple regions
Advanced proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, MS Project)
Strong analytical skills with expertise in Excel, Power BI, or equivalent tools
Familiarity with SOP/WI documentation, operational KPIs, and continuous improvement frameworks
Success Metrics
On-time, on-budget delivery of national operational projects
High stakeholder satisfaction and cross-functional alignment
Measurable improvements in operational KPIs post-deployment
Effective team leadership and development of Operational Project Leaders
Documented process improvements and scalable best practices
